Directions to your wedding - an interactive map vs written instructions
"How do we get to the wedding?" - every couple hears this question dozens of times. A written route in the invitation? Guests lose it. A text message with the address? It disappears in a sea of messages. The fix that solves this once and for all? An interactive map on your wedding website.

Why does one click make such a difference?
Picture a guest driving to your wedding from another city. Option A: they dig out a text with the address, retype it into Google Maps, pick a route. Option B: they open your wedding website, tap "Get directions" - and they are on their way.
The difference is a few seconds against a few minutes of irritation. Multiply that by the whole guest list, and by the phone calls that never reach you as a result.
Two locations, one website
Most weddings happen in two places: the church (or registry office) and the venue. On your wedding website you can add two separate maps:
- ·The ceremony - the church or registry office address, with directions
- ·The reception - the venue address, with directions
A guest never has to search for an address - it is all there, clearly marked and ready to tap.
Where a map saves the most stress
Some places genuinely need more than a plain address. In city centres, parking can be scarce and venues are often scattered well outside town. In cities split by a river, guests can lose their way between bridges, and the ceremony and reception sometimes sit on opposite banks. In areas made up of several linked towns, one wedding day can mean three different addresses. In all of these cases, a map with pins does something a written route never quite manages.
What else can a map do?
Beyond directions, the map section on your wedding website can include:
- ·Parking information - how many spaces, whether it is free
- ·Extra directions - "Coming from the north, take the second exit"
- ·Distance from the centre - a useful reference for anyone booking a room
- ·Transport details - are you arranging a coach for guests?
Older guests
An interactive map is no trouble even for older guests. The link opens in their phone's browser, and the "Get directions" button launches their default navigation app (Google Maps or Apple Maps). One tap - even a grandparent can manage it.
